Cats and Kittens at the Shelter  

Although we try to get all the information correct on every animal, sometimes an error is made. If you are interested in a particular animal please check with the knowledgeable staff who can give you more information about him or her.

Please come into the shelter to fill out an adoption application form if you are interested in adopting one of these cats.

If the cat or kitten of your choice is in  a foster home, arrangements can be made to meet him or her by contacting the shelter.

There is a mandatory 24 hour waiting period when adopting an animal.

Cat adoptions require 2 references that are not family.

Sugar

	Sugar is a bit cautious of new situations, but her curiosity gets the better of her. She is very sweet if you let her approach you, but she will need a home that is willing to work with her. Sugar is in a foster home, getting used to dogs and enjoying her new home environment.

Axle

	Axle is a gentle and quiet cat who would be a joy to have around.   Axle will do well in a calm enviroment where his personality will shine. Axle is now in foster care.

	Kizzie likes to think she is THE queen of the castle. She does not seek a king to share her throne. She is the cat that walks by herself and seeks to rule in solitary splendor. Kizzie is presently is foster care.

	Ani is a very affectionate, loving cat who prefers to hang out with adults.  Ani doesn't mind dogs and we're not too sure what she's like with other cats.  Ani is presently in a foster home but would like to find a home of her own.

	Snickers was found as a stray in Whitehorse. She is settling down at the shelter but still likes to be able to choose whether to approach people. She is friendly when she decides that she does like you. She is now in foster care.

	Trudy arrived as a stray. She is a friendly cat and was just diagnosed with Diabetes.  She's currently receiving insulin injections.  As a longhaired cat, Trudy will require regular grooming. She is currently in a foster home.

	Sylvester is a very friendly cat who has seems to be more interested in getting attention from humans than catching Tweety Birds. He does get along with other cats. He is currently in a foster home.

	Gibson gets along well with other cats and will tollerate dogs. He came in with his friend, and was surrendered because his old owners had to move and couldn't take him. He is a friendly boy, who likes attention but is quite content to hang out by himself too.

	Magi is one of the friendliest cats that we have in the shelter. He enjoys cuddling up and lots of petting. He  requires 2 insulin shots daily, and although he is used to recieving the shot he needs a dedicated owner who is willing to take the time to care for him. He is currently in a temporary foster home, looking or a house of his own.

	We were told that Mr. Kitty did not like strangers, and has gone as far as getting agressive with them before, but we have not noticed it here at all. He is a very friendly, happy guy with beautiful green eyes.

	Miss Priss came from dawson city with the 11 kittens and two other cats. Her litter has all been adopted, and se is ready to find her own home. She is good with kids, and gets along with other cats. She is a friendly girl who would be a great fit in almost any home.

	Satin was found in a tiny little kennel in our front room. Nobody knows why he was left or what his story is. He growled at everyone and everything for the first 3 days he was here, and then suddenly realized that we aren't that bad. Now he is a very affectionate boy who loves getting his belly rubbed.

	Max was brought in here with a horrible case of worms, and was treated for it right away. He was terrified for the first week that he got here, and is just starting to come around. His previous owners said that he was a very loving and affectionate cat, and we can see that he really is. He just needs a bit of adjustment time to get used to a new environment and a whole bunch of new people.

	Turbo gets along with dogs, kids, and cats. He loves to ride in vehicles, especially on the dash. He will eye your shoulder and then jump on it without warning, but he means no harm and just wants to cuddle behind your head and purr while you walk around. He was surrendered to us because his owners couldn't take proper care of him.
