Greetings from Alberta.
We adopted Carter in May of 2001. I saw her picture on the
website and her expression said so much to me. Unfortunately I was unable to get the time off
work, so I convinced my dad (really hard to convince - he is known as the travel guru)to fly up there
and bring her home for me. So he did. Ever since she has come into our life she has given us endless
amounts of enjoyment.
She is very vocal and "talks" all the time. I really mean
ALL THE TIME!!!! From the time she goes to bed (she has claimed my bed as hers) until she goes out in
the morning, she always has something to say. She is totally ball crazy (and everything else that is
not bolted down) and always has to have something to carry around. My son finds this pretty hard as
being he is only 3 1/2 he can't understand why he can't play with anything that is or resembles a
ball. He's learned the hard way. Carter has three other sisters at home. Angie (bloodhound), Penelope
(olde english bulldog)and Hazel a.k.a. Budda (english bulldog) and these girls have the time of there
life out here. They have about 1/2 an acre that is theirs to run and play on. Carter however has
proven she is an escape artist and has gone visiting our neighbors a few times. Especially the
neighbor with the pool. She also finds lots of other trouble to get into. She chases the goats and the
horses (there have been a few near misses with hooves). All in all we cannot imagine life without her.
She constantly makes us laugh and she is a huge cuddle bug. Life will never be the same and we're sure
glad its not.
