Good News from Carolyn in Atlin, having adopted two dogs from the Shelter:
August 2006
Ah! Another good dog! Caleb is terrific. He seems very calm and happy here. I gave him his own mat to sleep on last night in my bedroom, but he snuck over and lay beside Rex. He stopped just short of actually touching Rex. He is a cuddler though, just as described.
I forgot to mention that Jackie the bunny is in the photo. She was not too impressed with Caleb last night when he first arrived. He strained to look at her, and she thumped loudly her dislike. This morning however, she has calmed down.
Bob and I took all three dogs for a short walk along a greenbelt yesterday, to get them acquainted. All were off-leash. Caleb trailed after Rex and came when called. He's a lovely dog and seems to fit right in. Chewy stays at Bob's house; I brought Caleb and Rex to Atlin. It's as if Caleb has always been here. He's kind and respectful to Rex, and I appreciate that since Rex is such an Old Man.
Rex came from Mae Bachur Shelter 5 years ago, and is much loved. He's now 13. I think adopting older dogs is great. You know what you're getting!

Caleb is fiiting in nicely. I think he likes the attention he gets as a B&B dog. My guests like him back.
Thanks, Carolyn

He looks pretty happy to me! He's sitting with his bum on one stair and his front feet one stair down. What a silly dog! My guests fell in love with him. In less than a week, he has had proposals from my guests to come away with them to Juneau, Whitehorse and Cape Cod! He's a popular lad. And a perfect B&B dog.
