Hi Folks
I am so proud of my Kayleigh girl tonight that I just had to write and brag! You knew Kayleigh as Cowley. Soon after we brought her home, we discovered that Kayleigh had no use for cats, except as snacks. Fortunately, none of our feline friends were injured in that discovery. I have been spending a lot of time with Kayleigh trying to get her to leave the cats alone. She is always leashed and muzzled when she is inside, which she hates. Tonight for the very first time, Kayleigh came in with no muzzle and did wonderfully! She laid down on the big doggie pillow at the back door and watched the cats. She showed no interest in chasing or eating them! She was given lots of love and treats for her wonderful behavior. Overall, she is doing very well. She gets along great with the other dogs. She has realized now that she will be fed everyday at about the same time. She no longer has to be fed by herself. Kayleigh is not showing any signs of food aggression anymore. She is a wonder dog off leash. She has never wandered off even when hiking in the bush. She is always the first dog back when they are called. She quickly learned how to pull as well and is now run in harness a couple times a week. She is very strong! (that's her in the back row of the pic) Basically, she is a big, happy, ball of affection! We couldn't be happier with her. She is a great addition to our critter family.
Just wanted to send a couple of pictures of Kayleigh. Last week was her adoption anniversary. There have been some trying moments in the past year, but she has settled down and become the lovely dog we always knew was in there. She has gained weight and filled out. She's very powerful and loves to pull.
When I skijor with her, I get no exercise, I just stand there while she pulls!
She loves to run with sled team too. I am sure the whole neighborhood hears her howls when the harnesses come out. She's a great hiking partner--reliable off her leash and I can always hear where she is. Kayleigh doesn't believe in going around small trees--she just crashes over them.
She's quite a character and has been a great addition to our family.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
