Thanks to Stuart Young

New kennelsThanks to Stuart Young, a former Administrator, the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter has a new set of kennels for their isolation room! This room is used to hold new animals coming into the shelter until they are able to enter the general population.  This prevents the spread of disease within the shelter and allows the animals to be assessed by vets and shelter staff.

Along with Stuart, there are many more people to thank for this project starting with City of Whitehorse’s Animal Control shelter for their generous donation of the kennels.  Upgrades to the kennels were done by D. Walker Exploration Services with materials donated by Far North Fiberglass.   Huge thanks to Buddy Gow for the design and building of the structure and thanks to AJAX steel for the metal.  Last but not least thanks to Wandering Spirits Kennels for all the supplies, the use of their shop and their continued care of numerous former shelter residents.
