Hey there!
My name is Turk. The Shelter folks knew me as Lincolna little straight for my temperamentbut more dignified than the name with which I arrived. Turk suits me. I am a handsome guy. Mom tells me so, all the time! But I have a wild side too.
I was dropped off at the Shelter by the lady who took me in off the street. I was pretty hungry then and I can’t quite get out of the habit wanting to eat every thing in site. This lady was quite nice, but she had other obligations andwell, you know who gets short shrift when the priorities get sorted. I bear no grudges. And after all, she did me a big favour, you know?
I thought I was pretty special when the boss took me home. Well! Weren’t there three other ‘mature’ cats there to set me straight?! It took a while but now they either play with me, or tolerate me, although I’m not sure which, all the time.
Cefer is the most fun. She is willing to play chase and scrap. Bill is a doofus! He won’t play at all, but he is warm and cuddly in the middle of the night and doesn’t mind company then. Bebe is weird. Sometimes she wants to scrub my ears and neck and other times she wants to hate me. Mostly she is OK and lets me jump on her and bite her neck. Sam is really cool. Sam is really big!
I was afraid of Sam at first. I had never been up close to such a big dog! Her nose was almost as big as me! Turned out, that she is pretty accepting and interested in feline folks like me - and her food dish is pretty interesting at times. We have an understanding.
My very favorite time - Oh man! I have a bunch! -well - first thing in the morning, I love to hug and cuddle with whoever is in the bathroom first. It’s usually Mom, and I have to have my hugs and head-scrubs before she gets in the shower. If I haven’t had enough, then I simply have to get wet, when I get them after.
I like cozying with Dad too. I especially like him in the evening when he is watching TV. He pretty much dotes on me then, scratching and rubbing all the spots I like most. Then I can stretch right out on his lap and have a really good snooze. I miss my girl, Heather though. She has gone off to school. I spent lots of contented hours curled up with her. She asked for pictures of me ‘her boy’. (Blush!)
In the wee hours of the night, when all is still and quiet, I like to curl up somewhere on Mom and Dad’s bed. I try not to get the other feline occupants upset, but it is impossible to resist nuzzling mom and dad. Usually they’re ok with it, but I sometimes get stuffed under the blankets or tossed off the bed.
All in all, I really like my new home and familyI have decided to keep them.
